Do Not Let Any Unwholesome Talk Come Out of Your Mouths

Inspired today by a post by my sister Brenda, I did a study. I hope you all may glean something, as I did.

1 Peter 4:8
Above all things have intense and unfailing love for one another, for love covers a multitude of sins [forgives and[a]disregards the offenses of others].” Amplified
When someone sins against us, love and forgiveness covers that sin, if we desire to love and forgive as Christ does.

If we think someone has sinned, then the correct thing to do is go to THAT person, rather than to go gabbing to any ear that will listen. Then if they won’t listen, speak to them with a witness. (Matthew 18:15-18) The motive should always be restoration.
If you are talking ABOUT them, instead of TO them, you are stirring up dissension, rather than seeking restoration. Proverbs 10:12 12 “Hatred stirs up dissension, but love covers over all wrongs.” NIV Remember God is weighing the motives of your heart, and you will be judged as you judge others. If you are listening to such evil reports, consider this scripture.
Prov 10:10 “He who winks maliciously causes grief, and a chattering fool comes to ruin. 11 The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life…” 12 “Hatred stirs up dissension, but love covers over all wrongs.” When discord is stirred up it is an abomination to the lord. (read Proverbs 6:16)
It is Satan who desires to stir up dissension, and discord, and plants seeds of doubt. He tries to make us look critically at each other, and pass judgment. In reality he is attempting to discredit the gospel. Do not be deceived. God is not mocked. Those who sow discord are self pleasing, rather than pleasing God. They are not walking in love, and are STILL carnal. How does one sow discord? Such seeds are sown through gossip spoken against another brother or sister, through one who’s bound by unforgiveness towards another brother or sister and speaks evil of him/her to other believers. A man’s ways are right in his own eyes, and unfortunately it is all too easy to twist the truth to serve our own purposes.
Perhaps you want others to sympathize with you, or be on your side. If you are walking in love, and have accepted Jesus Christ as your lord and savior, you already have HIM on your side, and have no need of gathering sympathizers. If we fail to walk in love it is MOST displeasing to Him and anyone who stirs up strife and division among the brethren is an absolute abomination to the Lord. Do NOT partake!!!
Romans 14:1 “Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but NOT to doubtful disputations.” So indeed, show them the love of God, and if necessary correct them with the word of God, with meekness, being careful that you are not tempted too.
“Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause division and offenses contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and AVOID them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good works and fair speeches, DECEIVE the hearts of the simple. (Rom 16:17)

James 5:19 “My brothers, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring him back, 20 remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save him from death and cover over a multitude of sins.”
Ephesians 4:2 2Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. 3Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.

Eph 4:26 "In your anger do not sin"[d]: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27and do not give the devil a foothold.” Oh beloved ones of God, watch! Again I say “WATCH.”
29 ”Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. 30And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
Matt 5:16 “Let your light so SHINE before men, that they may see your good works, and GLORIFY your Father which is in heaven.” Let everything we do bring glory to God, not attention to ourselves.
