He Heals the Broken Hearted


When Jesus was crucified on the cross in our place He bore our grief. The Hebrew word for grief in Isaiah 53:4 is choli meaning sickness, weakness, pain.

Isaiah 53:3 He was despised and rejected by men,
a man of sorrows, and familiar (HE KNEW Yada) with suffering.
Like one from whom men hide their faces
he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 Surely he took up our infirmities
and carried our sorrows,
yet we considered him stricken by God,
smitten by him, and afflicted.
5 But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,
and by his wounds we are healed.

He carried our inner pain and wounds, so that we don't have to! Hallelujah!!! God's Word tells us that He cares for us, and because of this fact, we are told to cast all - not some, but ALL - of our cares upon Him (see 1 Peter 5:7).

Some examples of the lord healing people:

Matt 8:16 "When the even was come, they brought unto him (Jesus) many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: 17That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias (Isaiah) the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses."
Matt 4:23 "Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing (therapeuo) every (HOLOS all, the whole)disease and sickness (Nosos unsoundness)among the people. 24News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed, and he healed them." (All manner of sickness and disease)

Luke 4:40 (King James Version) 40 "Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.” He healed them ALL."
Likewise, Jesus gave instruction to his disciples Luke 10:1 “After these things the LORD appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come. Luke 10:9 9And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.”
Acts 5:16 "There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one."

Acts 8: 5 "Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them. 7For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed." (therapeuo) Yes!!!! Christ was preached. That was the therapy!
“8 "And there was great joy in that city.” When people are set free there is joy. When Christ sets you free you are free indeed. Don’t entangle yourself, again, with the yoke of bondage.

Mark 3: 14 "And he(Jesus) ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach, 15 And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils"

Mark 6:7 ”And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits; 12And they went out, and preached that men should repent. 13And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them.” They were cast out by the authority of the word of God! The foolishness of preaching, and anointing with oil.


HEBREWS 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. NKJ

1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. 8Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.”
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6

In John 16:23, Christ says, “I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.” (supplication)

Matt 7:7 "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
9"Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?10Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!
Ephesians 3:17so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.But the fact is, it was our pains he carried— our disfigurements, all the things wrong with us.Colossians 3:15 New Living Translation (©2007)

The lord IS our healer. Let’s dwell on HIM rather than the pain we’ve experienced. He already made provision. We were redeemed! We are no longer in bondage unless we continue to dwell there.

Philippians 4: 8-9 Summing it all up, friends, I'd say you'll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies. Philippians 4:8 (The Message)
